


Kayaking adventures to both Burgess Falls and Fancher Falls on Center Hill Lake can be arranged as you visit the area.

The largest free falling waterfall in Tennessee is less than an hour away from Liberty Oak Oasis! Falling 256ft it is the largest east of the Mississippi and is easily viewed from a platform at the State Park which is free to enter. Horseback riding is also available nearby.

Rated one of the top ten best swimming holes in the United States! A short 90 minute drive from downtown Nashville and a shorter 25 minutes from Liberty Oak Oasis. There is a mile hike to view the falls from a new platform installed in 2023. As well, an online hiking pass is available to hike the gorge to get to the base of the falls for swimming. Rock Island State Park a 883-acre park located on the headwaters of Center Hill Lake at the confluence of the Caney Fork, Collins, and Rocky Rivers. The rugged beauty of the park includes the Caney Fork Gorge below Great Falls Dam. These overlooks are some of the most scenic and significant along the Eastern Highland Rim.
Known for its rugged beauty and impressive waterfalls, the park includes the Caney Fork River Gorge (the gorge), one of Tennessee’s many national treasures. The gorge is a popular location for hiking and swimming offering deep-blue pools, scenic trails, and cascades—including Great Falls, a 30-foot waterfall located below the 19th-century cotton textile mill that it powered more than 100 years ago.
